In the wakes of the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 election between incumbent President Donald Trump and President-elect Joe Biden, and the January 6, 2021 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol, security and public fears surrounding the 2021 inauguration turned Washington, D.C. into an odd lockdown town.

Summer 2020, in the early midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, protests broke out around the country and within New York City in response to the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. What began as a Black Lives Matter moment in America quickly became a mass-scale movement for racial justice & equality.
